How’d we do it?
Here are the latest stats on our efforts at the PRESFEST. We were able to co-produce this event with the PRES PTA and offer our Earth Day Everyday Low Waste Pop-up. We brought our Water Refill Station, Compost Education Table, Waste Stations and put our Compost Solutions into action.
We diverted 2 trash bins (approximately 100 gallons of trash) by using only compostable single-use items.
We diverted over 150 single-use 12oz plastic bottles with our Water Refill Station and we diverted over 165 single-use 12-oz bottles of soda with a keg on tap.
We also made an effort in waste reduction behavior by encouraging guests to bring their own reusable water bottle and gave out compostable cups and tasting spoons and asked them to reuse them until they were finished.
All these efforts combined resulted in a successful low waste event for all having a significant impact on waste reduction measures.
